At Soul Strength we believe that your health is your greatest asset. We believe that movement, sweating, physical fitness, stretching, yoga and mindfulness improve your overall health and wellbeing, and help to reduce stress in the body and mind. We believe that good relationships provide the foundation for positive change and enjoy providing individuals and groups with the tools they need to feel empowered to move toward improved health and wellness.
Our team offers a strong educational foundation and a tremendous amount of industry experience. We have been providing services in Edmonton since 2002 and maintain the highest level of professionalism when attending to our clientele. Soul Strength team members know that our efforts are the basis of our clients’ success, and we relish every opportunity to help our community in achieving their goals.

Soul Strength Yoga & Fitness was founded in December 2009 but its roots began long ago when owner Melany James envisioned her dream “job”. After surviving cancer in her grade 12 year, she knew she wanted to help people in some way live healthier lives. Having been involved with athletics her whole life and believing in the power of movement to help manage stress and create a healthier state of being in both body and mind, she decided to pursue her Bachelors degree in Physical Education. Not sure where it would take her, she envisioned creating a ‘Wellness Centre’ of sorts overlooking the ocean. In the end, she settled in Edmonton where she grew up with two different facilities on the edge of our beautiful river valley.
The Personal Training Studio
The Personal Training Studio in Grovenor opened its doors on November 14, 2011. After many years of personal training out of other facilities, it was time to create a space to offer a more connected community in hopes of inspiring more people down the path to wellness.

With a fabulous team of professional and talented Yoga Instructors and Personal Fitness Trainers working together at Soul Strength, we hope to help create healthier communities through educating people on how they can build strength in body, mind and spirit both on and off the mat in a way that is personally inspiring!
