Yoga Class Descriptions

Mindful Movement

This class centres on integrating mindfulness principles into physical movement, emphasizing awareness, breath, and gentle, intentional motion rather than just physical poses. These classes aim to deepen the mind-body connection and foster stress reduction by guiding practitioners to observe bodily sensations, thoughts, and emotions without judgment. The focus is on presence and self-care, with an emphasis on the internal experience and the ability to adapt movements to individual needs. 

  • What to expect:

    ✔ You can expect a slower pace that prioritizes the internal experience over achieving a perfect pose. 


    ✔ The practice is inclusive and can be adapted to different fitness levels, ages, and physical limitations. 


    ✔ The goal is to leave the class feeling more grounded, present, and at peace. 

  • Registration fees and details:

    SESSION: September 8 to December 15, 2025 * [12 classes total]


    DAY & TIME: Mondays from 11:15 am-12:00 pm (MST)


    FEES: Cost per person is $168 + GST ($176.40), or $228 + GST ($239.40) per household.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic and flexible style that links breath with movement through a flowing sequence of poses, often starting with sun salutations. Classes vary from session to session, building heat, strength, and flexibility while promoting focus and a meditative state. The experience is described as a "wave" that starts slow, builds to a more intense middle, and then gently comes back down to a final relaxation. 

  • What to expect:

    ✔ Instead of holding one pose for a long time, you move from one pose to the next, coordinating each movement with an inhale or exhale. 


 


    ✔ The practice is rooted in linking your breath with your movement, which helps to create a moving meditation and a deeper mind-body connection. 


 


    ✔ The sequence of poses can change from class to class, offering a dynamic and creative experience that prevents boredom and repetitive motion injuries. 


 


    ✔ The continuous movement builds internal heat, strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

Gentle Yoga Flow

This class includes slow, thoughtful movements, a focus on accessibility for all levels, and the use of props like blocks and blankets to support poses. These classes emphasize breath work, stretching, and relaxation. They are ideal for those new to yoga, recovering from injury, or seeking a low-intensity practice to reduce stress and improve flexibility. 

  • What to expect:

    ✔ You will likely spend more time holding each pose than in a more vigorous class, allowing your body to ease into the stretch. 


    ✔ The class may include simple stretches, gentle backbends, and forward folds, modified to be gentle on the body. 


    ✔ The class will likely conclude with a period of deep relaxation, such as a guided meditation or savasana (corpse pose).
